Superb First Day & Team Building Games

A warm welcome and a nice first day!

The Sunday Arrival Day was quite challenging for everyone since about half our campers arrived to the camp at 1h30am. The morning wake-up time was adjusted to give them the chance to rest a bit and to start off camp smoothly. Language students were placed in the appropriate class and started their first lessons. Adventure campers had a swimming skills assessment in the hotel pool led by Marie, in order for us to be aware who the good swimmers are and which campers will require some extra attention when involved in water activities; this way we are able to run our activities safely. The language students also had their swimming assessment later on as they too will get to participate in many water activities. A brief tour of the village was followed by lunch, the first 'All-camp meeting' and the afternoon activities which were arts & crafts, self-defence and slack-lining. In the evening we had our campers play name games and go through 8 interesting team-building stations spread around a full-size football pitch. The idea is to help campers meet each other and feel comfortable at camp from the start.

Despite the tiredness of the arrival day, the evening was a success, the kids accomplished their challenges and begun to make new friends. A faster integration to camp life means happier and hence more enthusiastic campers!
