Summer Camp LTC, Leysin

15th July 2024

Getting To Know Each Other!

In the morning, the LTCs listened to international speaker David Allen. He covered the various aspects of Leadership. This included qualities of a leader, how to understand the qualities of respect. It included the development of modern traditions, e.g. hand shaking and salutes. Another area that was covered was body language and interview techniques, these would equip the students for future applications and interviews for university and jobs. They then discussed the various traits of a speaker, and compared famous speakers and whom was the more influential leader: showing that having a vision was a very distinctive part of being a leader. This vision could vary from getting roads repaired to restructuring the infrastructure of a city.

In the afternoon the group went to the local high ropes park where they had the opportunity to try a variety of routes, from easy through to highly technical routes. The group enjoyed the opportunity to take part in this activity, this helped with developing relationships within the group.

During the evening activity the group joined with the Blues. They took part in Dodgeball, initially they were divided into a mix of LTC and Blues in teams. At the end of the session, they returned to their respective groups and competed against the Blues as a whole. The evening was enjoyed by all taking part.
