Summer Camp LTC, Leysin
Festival Friday!
In the morning, the LTCs listened to international speaker Cameron Parker. During his presentation assignments were given to the campers. The first activity had the group selecting 3 favourite animals and some characteristics that were linked to past & present self-perception, and how others see them.
Cameron then went on to discuss fears. He highlighted the top 5 fears in that have been shown through various research papers. The number one is public speaking/social interactions. He had the group discuss why this is classed as one of the top fears. Later, they went on to discuss a model named 20-20 vision. This model covers things like gratitude, lack of perception, creating perspective, long and short terms goals, by going over these different areas it helps to develop on the spot clarity. This in time helps to keep them focused on how to achieve their individual goals.
In the afternoon they went up to Prafandaz, whilst there they had a barbeque for lunch, they then were involved in all camp activity Festival Friday, this involved them being divided into four different elements with the other colour groups. They then took part in a variety of events against other teams to earn points for their element.
In the evening they participated in Carnival night, this involved a number of different stations for them to take part in. These ranged from Fortune teller to hop shot, once they had completed the activity, they would be awarded a token which would help to increase the points for their team.
