An epic day, a Jazzy evening

It was another jammed pack epic day today in Switzerland! We started off with beautiful clear views of the alps when we woke up, day 5 and still can’t get tired of these majestic views from right outside our windows!

Off to breakfast, and then the campers headed into two teams for some action adventures down the rushing river. One team went rafting and the other went canyoning.

Canyoning was a rush of navigating through the water systems where we wore a whole wet suit from helmet to toe, just to walk through these gorgeous canyons. The water levels were high at some point but we were a team! We helped each other out - some parts we swam, others we jumped from really high cliffs to splash into the water! The freezing cold glacier run-off felt amazing, as it woke us right up and our adrenaline kept us going through the whole canyon - Indiana Jones style.

After our morning activity, we jumped right into our afternoon activity - dirt scootering! What is dirt scootering you may ask? Well, imagine scooters… With giant wheels… Going down a huge mountain and splashing dirt, mud and everything in-between onto you! You can ride the scooter down at your own pace, or what feels like racing a horse. Near the end we stopped by an alpage, where Swiss cheese and dairy products are made in a cute little stone cottage; and got some Swiss chocolate ice cream.

That evening we all got into our best dressed and hit up Montreaux for the Jazz Festival. The Montreaux jazz festival is a world class festival running for many years now. The campers roamed around on the boardwalk to enjoy the view of the stunning lake, surrounding mountains, and ate various international food from all around each corner of the world while enjoying different live music performances. Now, that’s how I’d wrap up a day too!
