Summer Camp YPO-JLU

20th July 2018

Canyoning by Day, Dancing by Night

We started our morning off with Julia Langkraehr, an EOS implementer, who helps "frustrated business leaders and entrepreneurs get what they want from their business." So what does this mean for the campers? They learned the art of negotiation, practicing different pursuasion tactics. Parents beware because your kids are armed and ready to getting curfews extended and those new pair of shoes.

In the afternoon, we had a classic BBQ in Chateau d'Oex, where kids gorged on an assortment of meats, roasted potatoes, fresh salads, and fruit. After getting our energy high, we went canyoning again; this time to a different route with different challenges. Campers had to jump through tight crevices, slide face first down rocks into the water, and swim behind mini waterfalls, all while taking the beautiful, naturally-formed architecture of the rock faces. Then it was back to the hotel, to clean up and get prepared for the night's festivities.

We started our evening off with a surprise-- a magical surprise. Unbeknownst to our campers, our talented director, Victor, is also an incredible magician. He performed tricks that stunned the crowd and even invited them to participate in the fun and games. Seriously, how does he do it?

Then it was off to our own disco night, dj'ed by our very own, Mr. Powers. He had the beats pumping, making it impossible not to dance or sing. Midway, we broke for a mini-lesson in salsa dancing, where kids took notes and eventually a stab at trying. Then it was music request hour, where campers eagerly chose the tunes.
