Mount Isenau Here We Come!

This morning campers joined guest speaker Layla Arjani for a insightful speech. This wonderful young woman is an example to follow as evident by her early endeavour in entrepreneurship. Layla is Director of Operation at Little Bridge, a children's media and immersive games-based learning platform. Prior to Little Bridge, she also spent five and a half years in consulting during which she founded NEXTgen London. All campers interacted and left the session full of fresh advice and thoughts of the future. At the end of this session campers were asked by Layla to write a letter to themselves which will was meant to be opened within five years in the future.

After Layla's session, the campers had lunch and prepared for an overnight hike to Mount Isenau. It was a long hike ahead! First of all campers were driven to the departing point, Les Diablerets, a small village on the north side of the massif of the Diablerets in the Swiss Alps. Campers took a quick map reading session to learn how to read a map for distance, altitude, topographic features, man made features and navigation skills. They each took turns guiding the team to the point of interest; which is a picturesque mountain hut. After some meditation and relaxation exercises in the meadows overlooking the surrounding peaks the group pushed on to Isenau.

When the group arrived to the mountain hut overlooking the valley everyone enjoyed a well earned feast. Later on the group took a short stroll to a meadow to partake in an empathy exercise to learn to listen better to others. The weary headed back to the hut and the remainder listened to the cow bells ring in the valley as the sun set over the craggy peaks.
