Summer Camp YPO-JLU

17th July 2017

Guest Speaker, High Ropes and Urban Orienteering

The day started with guest speaker Martial Vout, a security professional and self-defense instructor. After attending various training courses in the United States and France, he worked at the service of European CEOs and personalities from the Middle East. All campers learned basic self defense moves that are crucial in any perilous situation.

All campers went to the high rope course consisting on high and low elements. Parc Aventure has 11 courses of different levels from beginners all the way to competitive. Additionally there are two giant zip-lines of 250 meters. All safety measures were laid out at the beginning of session, and then all campers went to challenge themselves physical and mentally on the courses.

After enjoying a delicious dinner to recharge their energy, all campers took part in an urban orienteering session to get to know the idyllic village of Leysin. The campers were assigned into groups and they were off in a race against the clock. The campers goal's were to locate the orienteering markers around the village as well as complete a series of challenges. This gives them confidence to navigate Leysin`s village town independently and learn a little about the culture in Switzerland.
