Summer Camp Zell am See, Austria
Daily Camp Blog – 15th July
Today was one of the most anticipated days of the camp, as campers set off for an unforgettable full-day excursion to the beautiful city of Salzburg. Our oldest campers enjoyed a slightly later start before everyone had a hearty breakfast to prepare for an exciting day ahead.
We arrived at one of Europe's most famous and impressive palaces at around 10:30 a.m., where campers explored its magnificent gardens and discovered the famous hidden water fountains. These playful surprises brought plenty of laughter while providing a refreshing escape from the summer heat, making the visit both memorable and enjoyable.
After lunch, the group headed into the historic centre of Salzburg. Campers had approximately two and a half hours to explore the city, shop for souvenirs, or simply enjoy the unique atmosphere. Younger campers were accompanied by their group leaders throughout the visit, while the older campers were given the opportunity to explore independently, meeting their leaders at regular checkpoints to ensure everyone's safety.
Following a fantastic day discovering one of Austria's most iconic cities, the groups returned to camp in the evening. After dinner, the younger campers enjoyed a fun bowling-themed activity at camp or took part in a lively team challenge filled with games and friendly competition.
Meanwhile, our oldest campers made the most of their extended visit to Salzburg by having dinner in the city before rounding off the day with a trip to the bowling alley. It was the perfect ending to a truly special day, full of culture, independence, friendship, and unforgettable memories.
