Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland

12th July 2023

UNITED NATIONS

This Mornings Activities were full of excitement!

The Yellows were up bright and early to an exciting trip down to Aigle for some High Ropes. They were super excited to climb about the obstacle courses. They managed to defeat the easiest tracks, both green and yellow, and with the supervision of an adult, some tackled on the blue track. Climbing up ladders, scaling hanging planks mid air, crossing tight ropes and wizzing down zip lines. After basking out in the sun and enjoying their lunch, hey headed back to the camp to start on their prep for international day or for a game of United Nations.

All the color groups split up to assist in prepping for their international night. Everybody was super enthusiastic and excited to represent their country or a country they were passionate about. We have the Arab Nations (Reds) , Spain, Greece, Asian Nations, Arab Nations( Yellows & Blues), Italy, USA/Canada and Switzerland/France.

And for the rest of the campers they played a game of Capture the Flag in the forest. we had the purple team and the orange team. The whole forest was divided into half their zones, and if anyone was caught not on their mother land, they were captured and brought to prison. The goal was to capture the most flags without getting caught by the opposite color or passing the flag to any other team member. After an hour of sneaking around the trees and hiding in bushes, the purple team came out in victory, with 1 small purple flag, 1 small orange flag, and a Big Orange Flag! They were over ecstatic with joy and cheer.

The Greenies returned from their hut hike, exhausted but still holding enough energy to organise a show for all of the campers and staff before dinner, called The 3 Little Piggies. A story about one little piggy building a cabin, with a ladder, a chimney, for the other two piggies who helped him gather fire wood, after a long trip to find a home. Then, a sneaky old nasty wolf came about who wanted to destroy all they have build and eat the piggies.... But the piggies united together to defeat the wolf, and stop him against his bullying. The Moral of the story is that if you unite together as a team, you can defeat anything or anyone, even if they are an old smelly fart. Don't ever let the older ones Bully or disrespect you and stand together as a team!

After Dinner, the activities continued with the Red's playing a Murder Mystery game, The Blues Having a movie night watching Minions 2 , The Yellows throwing it off with some dodgeball and the Greenies, well they had the Olympics, with all sorts of activities like racing, hula hooping and the human knot. For tonight its Lights out and Goodnight...
