Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland
Excursion Day!!!
It was an all camp excursion day today with the four colour groups heading far and wide to explore a little more of Switzerland!
The Greenies and Yellows headed to Broc to explore "Le Maison de Cailler", a chocolate museum that is the birthplace to Switzerlands most loved chocolate "Cailler". The groups were taken on an interactive tour exploring the history of chocolate before moving through areas where they could see the actual chocolate being made, and of course no chocolate factory tour would be complete without a taste test! After a fun day both groups returned to camp to settle in for a movie night.
The Reds spent the day exploring "Nest" a museum dedicated to Henri Nestle creator of one of Switzerlands most world renowned brand "Nestle", in this very new museum you are taken in a walk through time following the life of Henri Nestle in an amazing mix of interactive games, history and technology. Afterwards they spent a little time exploring Vevey and finally a stop in Lausanne for some free time exploring the streets and shops before returning to camp.
The Blues had a huge day, with their first stop being the world famous Olympic Museum in Lausanne. The Museum is crammed full of fascinating exhibits and artifacts with everything from original photography, olympic medals and torches and interactive games. Afterwards they were given free time to explore Lausanne before heading on to the incredible Montreux jazz festival, the worlds second largest annual Jazz festival situated on the picturesque shores of lake Geneva.
