Summer Camp Zell am See, Austria
Daily Camp Blog – 9th July
Today began with our usual 7:30 a.m. wake-up and a hearty breakfast to prepare everyone for one of the most exciting adventures of the week. Before leaving, campers also packed sandwiches and fruit from breakfast to enjoy as a snack during the day's excursion.
This year's adventure took us to the breathtaking Krimml Waterfalls, one of Austria's most spectacular natural landmarks. After a scenic one-hour coach journey, we arrived at around 10:30 a.m. and began our hike through an incredible landscape of forests, rushing waterfalls, and stunning mountain views. Along the way, we stopped several times to take photos, enjoy the scenery, and recharge with snacks while making unforgettable memories together.
Halfway through the hike, the group took a longer break before those who felt up for the challenge continued to the very top of the trail, reaching an altitude of nearly 1,500 metres. Their effort was rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views, making the climb well worth it. After taking plenty of photos and soaking in the spectacular surroundings, the group made its way back down to rejoin the rest of the campers.
At the end of the hike, everyone enjoyed a well-deserved treat with delicious waffles before returning to camp after an unforgettable day in the Austrian Alps.
Following dinner, campers gathered for a traditional American-style Campfire Night. Roasting marshmallows over the fire, singing songs, playing games, and sharing plenty of laughter created the perfect atmosphere to end such a memorable day. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to relax, strengthen friendships, and enjoy another magical evening together at camp.

- Dinner: Pasta with beef goulash and vegetables, some bread, and tiramisu for dessert.
