Summer Camp VDC Singapore

16th July 2013

Fun and Friendship at Village Day Camps

With the new campers settling into their groups, the camp commenced with relative calm, as everyone already knew where to go to meet their counselors. The campers who have been here for the past three weeks seem to genuinely be part of the Village Camps family and it has been wonderful watching them welcome others into their group. As I walked around all of the activities this morning, there was already a real camaraderie amongst the campers and their counselors. It is these relationships that makes the Village Day Camps experience such a positive one, and I am glad to see it thriving here in Singapore.

The kids were challenged throughout the day to be better than they already were. Whether it was a particular gymnastics move, a swimming technique, or stepping out of their comfort zone in a drama performance, everyone seemed to find a way to improve.

The sun shone for almost the entire day, which ensured lots of fun was had in the adventure playground. Sadly the lightening alarms rang just before the final activity session, but the resourceful counselors always have a few tricks up their sleeves to create some appropriate team challenges, just in case.
