Summer Camp VDC Singapore
Monday Means Village Day Camp!!
We were looking forward to hitting the ground running this morning. The music was entertaining everyone as the buses and parents dropped off the campers nice and early. After a short all camp meeting where introductions were made and a camp song was sung, it was off to activities without too much fuss.
Jay set everyone a challenge that they had to make three new friends by the end of the day...which wasn't really that challenging, since that had pretty much been achieved by the end of the first activity. Our counsellors have been working all summer at helping the new campers integrate into their groups, and today was as successful as ever. By lunch, there was a sense of calm as the campers seemed suitably exhausted from their various activities during the morning. The chicken casserole / vegetable pie was eagerly awaited and the chocolate eclairs were positively destroyed!
Music and Drama were particular highlights during the day, as was the quest to complete the adventure challenge outside in the sunshine. All in all, another great opening day with much to look forward to for the rest of the week.
