Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland
It's Festival Friday!
Festival Friday finally arrived under a beautiful sun and beautiful weather!
In the morning our campers split up to take on the different activities of their respective teams. Our Greenies prepared for the festival by playing around with colors and decoration, face paint and crafts! It was a day for gymnastics for the Sports camp as they took advantage of the full gymnasium to practice spins and somersaults! Yellow and Red campers headed into the forest to learn how to safely make fire in nature and play some nature games. Finally, our brave campers that spent the night at the Mountain Hut hiked back to camp!
When everyone returned from their morning activities, they immediately headed to the breathtaking Prafandaz that gives a magnificent view over Lake Geneva for the first part of Festival Friday. Split in four groups -Air, Water, Earth and Fire- they presented a group chant and then competed in a relay race as well as a big tug-o-war.
In the evening, counselors dressed up to set up the carnival for our campers! The campers could go around camp to find the different games where they could participate to win points for their teams! Basketball Challenges, Zing-Tong, Guess the Song, Karaoke, Frisbee Shoot were some of the games that the campers could take part in.
It has definitely been a long and tiring day but it’s rewarding to see everyone with big smiles on their faces! A weekend full of fun is waiting!
