Festival Friday!

The eagerly anticipated Festival Friday has finally arrived and the bright sun accompanied it. Before the festivities kicked off, our campers got up to a variety of morning activities.

French, English and Lab Explorers have hit the halfway milestone in their courses. Their respective skills have already improved so much… and there is still more to learn!

The Greenies woke up from their exciting slumber party last night, and got to work painting their faces in preparation for the festival today, as well as doing some relaxing art! The Yellows played nature games and sports before heading on to the festival. The Reds spent their morning in the forest learning to make campfires in the wilderness! Afterwards, they roasted marshmallows over the flame and played games in the woods. The Blues either returned from their overnight hut hike or were doing sports in the morning.

After making sure they were wearing ample suncream and had enough water, the campers headed up to Prafandaz where they were treated to a delicious BBQ and stunning views of Lake Geneva and the surrounding mountains.

The Campers split up into four groups: air, earth, water, and fire. They started their friendly competition with each other after getting kitted up with the colours of their element and face paint! They competed to get the most points by participating in a chant contest, where they had to come up with a dance and chant about their element. The chants were all very creative, showcasing the camper's dance moves and lyrics! After this, they competed for more points by racing each other and playing tug-of-war! The fun didn’t end there, though, as the campers had an exciting carnival to return to when they got back to camp!

Our campers were able to earn more points for their element by playing games like oily pig, gladiator, tightrope, name that tune, monster munch, stomp, gummy bear pong, fancy football, hockey shot, darts, basketball bonanza, caricature, candy guess and more! They could also have their fortunes ready by the mystical fortune teller, or sing their hearts out at karaoke!

Festival Friday is always a blast… yet the fierce but friendly competitiveness of our campers and their willingness to get involved made for an unforgettable day!
