Monday Madness
All of the campers have settled in well at camp and have had a good night's sleep, in their new beds with their new roomies!
After a delicious breakfast, this morning kicked off with some French and English language classes. In French, the kids practised some basic sentences, introducing themselves and getting to know one another, trying to nail down that French accent. In English, everyone did a colourful mind map about themselves, practising their writing skills and grammar, which was then hung up around the classroom for everyone to get to know each other. Stem got off to a successful start, beginning their robotics journey! Football camp was another huge success, with the campers in it all showing great promise!
Yellow, Red and Blue adventure campers all gathered together for the team-building activity, where they got to know each other better by tight-rope-walking, jump roping, and playing hilarious games such as "human knot", "zombie dodgeball" and more!
In the afternoon, we had a Raging Reds Race at Prafandaz, where they played loads of water games like Grass Burn, Dizzy Waiter and Soapy Balloon Toss. Every single camper loved these games and had so much fun having a massive water fight at the end. The Blues had an equally wet and wonderful time, in "The Big Blue" event, where they had lots of waterfights and relay races! We all walked back soaked, with a smile on our faces and bellies empty, ready for dinner.
The Greenies were taken on a discovery of dinosaurs in and all around Jurassic Camp. They had to follow a list of riddles to solve where all of the dinosaurs lay. When they had found them they gathered outside for a science experiment, They learned about volcanoes and the formation of mountains, understanding how the landscapes might have been affected billions of years ago ( and even now). Using the basic ingredients from our kitchen and team work they created an explosion inside of the volcano. All of them were amazed and in awe about the volcano's eruption.
In the evening the Greenies and Yellows played the famous and beloved "Terminator" game where they were chased all over the camp by our terrifying "robots"- the kids had the time of their life! The Reds had a survival activity where they played games in the forest, and the Blues had a ball playing dodgeball!
All in all, today was a mad flurry of fun and excitement, and we can't wait to see you tomorrow to update you some more!
