Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland
New Day, New Camp!
Our campers woke up to a bright, sunny, mountain vista this morning! And if those mountain views weren’t enough to get them excited for their first full day of camp- their morning activities were!
The Reds, Yellows, and Blues joined forces in their first activity, focusing on getting to know each other more! They played ridiculously fun games such as Cat and Mouse, Trap Door, Goal Setting, Vortex, Tightrope, Human Knot, Shrinking Island, Hoolla Hoop Loop, Zombie Dodge Ball and more!
Campers who are in the Language and Stem courses spent their mornings meeting their lovely teachers and being introduced to their class for the next two weeks! Campers doing Performing Arts created a performance for each other based on an inspirational quote that was given to them by their instructor! They are already all so talented and the Village Camps team can’t wait to see how they develop their craft in the next two weeks!
The Greenies all had a blast at “Jurassic Camp” where they learned about each other, played with dinosaurs and even got to participate in a fun science experiment making their own mini volcano! This fun activity was followed by Archery as well as the iconic and beloved “Terminator” game that they played with the Yellows! Between their morning activity and “Terminator”, the Yellows had a town tour and had an adventurous time bouldering! The Reds spent their midday in “The Raging Red Race Off” where they played lots of water games such as “Drunk Waiters” where they spun in circles until dizzy and then carried water on a tray! There were smiles all around, and everyone was happy to be cooled by the water on such a hot day at the Profindaz. The Reds then spent their evening in their “Survival” activity, playing a fun game based on survival of the fittest in the animal kingdom!
The Blues got competitive in “The Big Blue Activity” where they played Battleships, had sponge fights, participated in a crazy relay race and much more! Despite the friendly rivalry they all supported each other and cheered each other on! Their sportsmanship continued into their evening activity of dodgeball and trust exercises and games!
Today was action-packed and full of excitement- a very successful day #1 of camp!
