Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland
Excursion Day!
It's Excursion Day here at VC Leysin and each color group is off to a fun destination as they continue to explore Switzerland outside of the Alps!
The Greens, Yellows and Blues headed out this morning to visit "Le Maison Cailler", home to Switzerland's most famous and treasured Chocolaterie. They were taken on an interactive tour through time, exploring the rich history behind the Cailler brand. They explored everything from the ancient Aztec cocoa rituals to modern day innovations and were able to see the chocolates being created with a walk through the factory floor. At the end they were even able to taste-test a few chocolates themselves! After a picnic lunch, the Greens and Yellows headed to Vevey for a little exploration and the Blues were off to visit Lausanne.
Meanwhile, the Reds had an exciting day as well, starting with their first stop of the world famous Olympic Museum in Lausanne. The Museum holds fascinating exhibits and artifacts with everything from original photography, Olympic medals and torches to interactive games. Afterwards they were given free time to explore Lausanne before heading on to visit the historical centre of the city for some shopping and freetime.
After all the excursion fun it was time to head back to camp for movie night. While the Blues were out bowling, the Greens, Yellows, and Reds all grabbed their duvets and some popcorn to wind down with some movies.
