Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland
Excursion Day!
Today was a special day as each color group headed off to excursion! The Greenies and Yellows headed to "Le Maison de Cailler", a chocolate factory where campers were taken on an interactive tour to learn the history behind some of Switzerland's most famous chocolate. They were also able to see the full process of chocolate-making and even taste-test a few chocolates themselves! Afterwards, the groups headed to Vevey for a little shopping and returned to camp for dinner and a group movie night.
The Reds spent the day exploring "Nestle" a museum dedicated to Henri Nestle creator of one of Switzerland's most world renowned brand "Nestle". In this museum, campers were taken on a walk through time following the life of Henri Nestle in an amazing mix of interactive games, history and technology. Afterwards they spent a little time in Lausanne for some free time exploring the streets and shops before returning to camp to enjoy movie night as well.
The Blues had an exciting day as well, starting with their first stop of the world famous Olympic Museum in Lausanne. The Museum holds fascinating exhibits and artifacts with everything from original photography, Olympic medals and torches to interactive games. Afterwards they were given free time to explore Lausanne before heading on to the incredible Montreux jazz festival, the worlds second largest annual Jazz festival situated on the picturesque shores of Lake Geneva.
