Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland
Excursion Day!
Excursion day is here at VC Leysin and after a delicious breakfast of pancakes and Canadian maple syrup it was time to pack their picnics and hit the road, swapping the peaceful heights of the Alps for the vibrant streets of the lakeside cities.
The Reds and Greens jumped on their buses and were off to visit "Le Maison Cailler", home to Switzerlands most famous and treasured Chocolaterie. They were taken on an interactive tour through time, exploring the rich history behind the Cailler brand. They explored everything from the ancient Aztec cocoa rituals to modern day innovations and even got to see the chocolates being created with a walk through the factory floor. Of course no visit to a Chocolaterie would be complete without a tasting and after smelling the irresistible aromas of freshly made chocolate it was time to sample the incredible chocolates that Cailler has to offer.
Elsewhere the Blues and Yellows spent their mornings exploring "Nest" a museum dedicated to the life and work of Henri Nestle, creator of the world renowned brand "Nestle". Nest offers the very best in modern interactive tours, after a walk through time following the life of Henri Nestle they enjoyed a mix of interactive games and activities designed to educate and entertain whilst learning about the history of Nestle and the advancements of modern manufacturing technologies that lead us to the world we live in today.
After their tours the Greens and Yellows were jetted away to Vevey to enjoy their Picnics by the lake and a scenic walk through the City centre before visiting a huge mall. Elsewhere the Reds and Blues were busy exploring the vibrant city of Lausanne, they roamed through Lausannes medieval shop lined streets taking in the incredible views and beautiful gothic architecture before the Greens, Yellows and Reds boarded their coaches and returned home to camp.
After dinner the Blues departed Lausanne and arrived at Fun Planet, an incredible complex filled with activities like Karting, Laser Tag, Bowling, Virtual Experiences, Games and much more!
Back at Camp the Greens, Yellows and Reds all grabbed their duvets, made themselves comfortable and settled in for a night of Popcorn and movies.

- Lunch: Picnic Lunch
- Dinner: Turkey, Roast Potatoes, Mixed Veg, Pesto Pasta, huge salad bar and fresh fruit salad for dessert
