Summer Camp England

25th July 2012

Excursions!

Last night was our International Night, campers got into their country groups, prepared some traditional food and skits to present to the camp. Everyone was very enthusiastic and excited to teach people about their culture, and it really showed. The food was exceptional and the skits were all very well done and presented! Everyone had a brilliant night and we are all so impressed with the effort the campers made! Today has been excursion day for most of our morning programmes! Staying on site were performing arts and basketball who were both preparing for their performance and game. English went to visit the beautiful Harewood House, located half an hour away from camp, they spent the morning having a tour of the house and then seeing the grounds and visiting the bird garden! Football went to Manchester to have a tour of Old Trafford, and do some shopping! The activity and adventure programme are still away and won't return until tomorrow afternoon as they are having their camp out, so they have spent the day trekking and gorge walking before settling down to relax with a barbecue in front of a camp fire! This evening we are all doing activities with our colour groups, yellows and blues will be joined for a Quiz night and the reds are playing activities outside while the weather is still nice! Hope everyone has a great evening, more news tomorrow!
