Summer Camp England

15th July 2012

WELCOME FROM THE CAMP DIRECTOR!

The blue skies and the brilliant sunshine of the English Summer welcomed the 170 new campers to Village Camps York today.

It was with great delight that we welcomed returning campers, who eagerly arrived to see their friends from previous years and their favourite returning counsellors. Even more exciting was the arrival of all the new campers who will be joining us for one unforgettable summer experience within our VC family here in York.

Whilst there were many campers that travelled most of the day to Manchester, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool or London Heathrow Airports ??? they all arrived at camp with smiles on their faces. All campers were guided by their colour leaders until the evening time when they participated in Ice Breaking activities in an attempt to get to know as many people as possible on their first day.

There are many things to look forward to, including adventures, excursions, activities and brand new experiences, but I think the most value found within our camp is the feeling of belonging and the development of friendships that will have the potential to last well after our camp finishes.

We are encouraging all of our new campers to feed of the enthusiasm and energy of our staff and to make the most of every experience that is given to them. I am sure that should each and every camper commit to this session, we will have a fantastic summer. I am excited, my counsellors are excited, the campers are excited ??? there can only be one outcome: the best two weeks EVER!!!!!!!
