Summer Camp Ardèche, France
Exploring day!
Today the campers woke up to a nice brisk morning. After a yummy hot breakfast everyone headed off to their activities! The Frenchies ??? in the morning and spent the afternoon exploring Aven dOrgnac, where they got a tour through the stunningly beautiful caves, in French, plus a visit to the Neolithical Museum, where they had the opportunity to discover a special exhibit on caving expeditions of the local area and the cavemen that used to live in this region.. A few River campers also chose to explore the caves in the afternoon, after a fun morning monkeying around Mazet, a local climbing spot located in a cool cave! Other River dudes chose to do the Via Ferrata, since the campers that went the last time had so much fun!! The rest decided to go canyoning, an adventurous way to explore a river and its secrets!
The campers gathered for dinner and loved todays roasted beef and rice! Our evening activity of today was preparing for tomorrows Grande Descente. We collectively made a list of all that we need to bring with us, after which the comrades packed their stuff and spent the rest of the evening practicing with the diabolos, playing ping-pong and chatting with friends.
Before story time our kitchen babes brought in some snacks that we all appreciated, oh so much! The campers are ready for a good night sleep, as the next two days we will be off on the GD, paddling the river, barbequing and enjoying each others company!
