Amazing day on the river!

After a healthy breakfast the campers strapped on their walking shoes and went on a beautiful hike along the riverside to the town of Vallon Pont d Arc. Every Thursday the town comes alive with the local market where people sell everything from fresh and exotic produce to traditional handmade arts and trinkets from the area. We ventured through the town enjoying ice cream and having a great time!

In the afternoon, we all got ready to spend the rest of the day on the river, as today we did the Mini Descente. The campers jumped into their canoes and set off to what promised to be a fantastic and adrenaline filled afternoon! The campers managed to paddle down the rapids while learning to work as a team and having great fun. We stopped at Pont d Arc to relax and have delicious snacks such as fruit, biscuits or chocolate. Some campers cliff jumped while relaxed at the beach. Despite the sky looked like it was gearing up for a storm, we were extremely lucky and it only started to rain when we got in the bus back to camp!

Dinner was received with hungry stomachs after the busy and fun afternoon. We all enjoyed an amazing barbecue that Julien, Alain and the kitchen staff prepared for us! Today s tent inspection theme was the circus; the field was full of jugglers, acrobats, tigers and elephants! The campers spent the evening painting each team s flag.

Tomorrow is a big day: mountain biking and the French excursion. May we sleep well tonight and have some great stories for you tomorrow!
