In 2020 Village Camps will be working once again with the highly-regarded Leysin Tennis which offers a dynamic and innovative specialist tennis programme providing each player with a memorable Swiss tennis experience.
The Director and Head Coach, Christine Suard, brings to the Tennis Camp an impressive 20 years coaching experience in Switzerland, Europe, the USA and the Emirates. She currently trains Top 10 Swiss Junior players in Leysin. We know Christine well as she has been part of the Village Camps family for over 15 years, coaching our young tennis campers with the California Tennis Academy.
Christine heads up her team of experienced Swiss and international coaches and sports experts that share a real passion for tennis. The team runs a well-established, successful programme that brings out the very best in each player with campers and coaches sharing fun and lots of laughter.
Players are divided into three general categories - Club, Competition and Green. We begin each session with an assessment of each player based on ability, age and their personal goals. For 3-hours each weekday morning, we set out to challenge each player so that we maximise individual potential. So during the two-week session players may move between categories as they make progress.
Club – (age 10-17 years) is designed for beginner and intermediate levels, focusing on developing core tennis technique and tactical skills, fitness, match play and a love for the game.
Competition – (age 10-17 years) is designed for advanced players who are competing in tournaments in their home country. The program is challenging with high-intensity tennis as well as physical conditioning training and mental strength. A highlight is competitive match-play with some of Switzerland’s top junior players!
Green – (age 7-9 years) is based on the award-winning Kids Tennis High School programme by Swiss Tennis, of which Christine Suard is a national representative. Using an adapted court, balls and materials, campers learn to play tennis through a fun, motivating and team-oriented programme.
Tennis & Language Camp
Language learning through sport is increasingly popular as it is proven that campers learn best when having fun. This camp combines classroom language practice with language immersion in the tennis programme, structured so that campers have three hours of language tuition (French or English) on weekday mornings and three hours of tennis instruction (in French or English) in the afternoons. Please note that this option involves a supplementary charge.
NEW! - Combine Tennis with one of our many Leysin Programmes
Three hours of tennis every weekday afternoon combined with morning weekday sessions of your selected programme chosen from:
Junior Adventure Camp
Please note that these options involve a supplementary charge.
