Summer Camp Zell am See, Austria
Daily Camp Blog – 23rd July
Today was one of the highlights of the camp as all campers came together for a full-day excursion to the spectacular Krimml Waterfalls, the largest waterfalls in Austria and among the highest in Europe. After travelling by train and coach, we arrived at around 11:00 a.m., ready to begin our adventure.
The group followed a beautiful and easy hiking trail alongside the waterfalls, surrounded by breathtaking Alpine scenery. Around midday, campers enjoyed a picnic lunch, prepared earlier that morning with the help of our staff during breakfast. After lunch, the hike continued to a peaceful riverside area, where everyone had time to relax, enjoy another snack, take photographs with our camp photographer, and appreciate the incredible natural surroundings.
In the early afternoon, we began our descent, stopping along the way to capture more photos and admire the stunning views one last time. We returned to camp at around 5:00 p.m., where campers had some well-earned free time, including the opportunity to use their mobile phones and relax after an active day outdoors.
Dinner was one of the week's favourites, with a delicious selection of grilled meats accompanied by a variety of potato dishes—perfect for recharging after the excursion.
To end the day, campers gathered around the fire for a traditional American-style Campfire Night. They enjoyed roasting marshmallows, singing songs, playing group games, and sharing plenty of laughter together. It was the perfect ending to another unforgettable day, filled with adventure, friendship, and wonderful memories.
