Summer Camp VDC Singapore
The Last Day....But a SPECIAL DAY! 007 in Singapore??
Our final day of camp has come and I am amazed by how much energy the campers and counselors still have. Our Special Day kicked off with some fantastic relay races and small team competitions in the Village Camps 007 Games. Team 'Moneypenny' triumphed with some excellent athleticism and teamwork combining to great effect. The mini campers enjoyed some time at music and drama before getting their faces painted.
After lunch, the locations were reversed, and as well as similar activities, there were a few extras for each age group. Most importantly, the older campers organized and rehearsed a camp song which was presented to the entire camp at the end of the day. This was a big success and an activity/event that may catch on for future years?
Also we were treated to two slideshows - one which had all of the campers photos from the week - and the other designed by two of our counselors; Jono and Ambry. They wrote and produced a song called 'Good Stuff' which was premiered at our All Camp meeting to much applause.
All in all, the week finished with a bang. Everyone left with smiles on their faces, and new friends to hang out with. We can't thank everyone enough, who participated and contributed to the success of our first ever camp in Singapore. The campers and counselors have played a massive part in the inaugural programme and I hope they will remember their time here with fond memories. My summer story is undoubtedly a phenomenally energetic and highly charged summer with great people thanks to Village Camps and UWC. Thank you to one and all. See you next year!
