Summer Camp VDC Geneva
Happy Special Day!!
SPECIAL DAY!!! The campers were so excited about today's Olympic activities that they couldn't stop smiling all day! We started our day with a staff skit performed by the senior counsellors and specialists. In the spirit of our Olympic theme, each counsellor represented a continent competing in different athletic events. But there was no Olympic flame in their torches! We had to call down the mighty God of the Olympics to light our fires. We think all of Switzerland heard us!
After the skit, the 9s and seniors went to the pool while the rest stayed at camp and participated in Olympic themed events such as long jump, hoop throwing, gymnastics and obstacle courses. The sun began to shine after a while and the campers were really enjoying themselves! To make it even better, we cooked up a barbeque and feasted on an amazing lunch of hamburgers, chips and salads. Delicious!
In the afternoon, we began our carnival! We had so many different games for the campers that they couldn't decide where to go first! Campers earned tokens from the games to exchange for prizes that included sweets, stickers and bracelets. Finally, it was time for our big performance! The drama was amazing as well as the dancing and singing. A round of applause for the drama, music, and dance specialists. We hope the parents enjoyed the performances. We have had a wonderful session with all of the campers. Thank you!!!
