Excursion day to Lisbon!

Today we did a full-day excursion to Lisbon with the campers. The campers had a fantastic time exploring the city and were very engaged in the tasks and challenges given to them.
Our day began with a comfortable bus ride from the camp to all the way to downtown Lisbon. When we got there we went on a walking tour of some of the city's most iconic landmarks. Our first stop was the majestic Torre de Belém, where the campers admired the historic fortress.
After that we visited Praça do Comércio, taking in the atmosphere of the city centre. The campers got a fun challenge, gathering information about the historical statue in the square. They were enthusiastic and eager to learn about the rich history of Lisbon.
A highlight of our walk was the Elevador de Santa Justa, the city’s famous elevator. The campers were tasked with a creative challenge here: to write a poem or rap about the elevator. To top off our cultural experience, the campers had the chance to try the delicious local treat, Pastel de Nata. This traditional Portuguese pastry was a hit, and many campers declared it their new favourite dessert.

For lunch, we enjoyed a delightful picnic together. We then made our way to the Amoreiras Shopping Center, where the campers were thrilled to explore the shops and enjoy some free time.
Throughout the day, the campers demonstrated great interest and excitement about the sights and activities. Their positive energy and curiosity made the excursion a truly memorable experience.
The bus ride back to camp was filled with lively discussions about the day's adventures, and it was clear that the excursion was a great success. In the evening we watched a movie to relax after a very busy day! It has been so fun exploring Lisbon and we can not wait for the dolphins tomorrow!
