International Night!
The eagerly anticipated International Night has finally come after lots of preparation! Campers were sorted into countries to either prepare a skit and delicious food from said nations or compete in our “United Nations” capture the flag games! This day has always been a highlight for our campers; today was no different!
Our English, French, and Lab Explorer campers continued to make great strides in their subjects- our young scientists even got to make and set off rockets today! The Greenies spent their morning preparing for International Night and making delicious fruit salads for the whole camp to enjoy. The Yellows learned survival skills like firemaking, shelter building and more in the “lost” activity. The Reds had their turn to brave the high ropes- conquering some of the more difficult routes and whizzing down the 350m zip line! The Blues had an adrenaline-pumping rafting adventure this morning- the fun was well worth the early rise!
After our campers had their separate activities in the morning, all the ages joined together in their countries to either prepare a hilarious play for the evening event, cook food for our international feast, or compete in the “United Nations” game. United Nations never ceases to be a riot- with our teams running through the forest, taking prisoners, sneaking around defences to capture the flag, and donning fierce face paint!
After a delicious buffet dinner of English, Australian, French, Swiss, Spanish, Greek, Algerian and American food prepared by our very own campers, everyone headed to the auditorium to perform their skits and plays for each other based on their countries. They were all hysterical, and many laughs were shared.
Today has been a roaring success. Our campers have formed such strong friendships here, so being able to play in the forest with and perform for each other was a delight for everyone.
A huge happy birthday to our amazing campers: Fedor, Gabrielle and Miguel… thank you so much for spending your special day with us at Village Camps!
