Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland

The First Day of Leysin Summer Camp 2012

This Year is Village Camp's 40th birthday and we hope it will be a great year. 190 seven to seventeen-year-olds from over 20 countries have been making their way here to Leysin, Switzerland to begin their two week adventure. The first port of call was to present themselves to reception, then off to deposit their money with the bank, check in with the medical team, meet their colour group leaders and sign up to the activities of the day. The long-running brunch fuelled them for an afternoon of getting to know each other by making name tags and door signs for their rooms and playing boardgames and ballgames. Some even took the opportunity to try out VC's outdoor climbing wall. The buzzing throng was then divided into counsellor groups to focus the bonding and pass on information about their stay here. Name games and icebreakers (such as Ninja, which you'll soon be playing at home!) were followed by dinner, a tour of the building and the chance to watch the final of the Euro Cup. Finally, after a long day of travelling for most, bed was a welcome sight!
