Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland

28th July 2011

Rain, Rain Go Away!

It would be fair to say that the weather is not entirely pleasant today! Torrential rain descended upon Leysin but it hasn't dampened the spirits of camp.

The Greenies have had a big day centring on their mountain hut adventure. During the morning they made preparations for the afternoon hike to the wooden hut nestled up 1680m in the mountains above Leysin. There they will eat, perhaps make a fire and then spend the night.

Adventure-wise, the Yellows have been down in the forest playing nature games, the Reds went climbing and the Blues explored Leysin's muddier routes by bike.

After refuelling at lunch and signing up with countries for International Night (later in the session) the Yellows chose from the almost overwhelming selection of mini golf, bouldering, swimming, climbing, dancing, pitch and art. The Reds undertook the Extreme Challenge full of wacky and often mucky team contests while the Blues got wet and wild at Aquaparc down by Lake Geneva.

After a delicious and nutritious meal served by our delightful kitchen staff, the Yellows played eggstreme games, the Blues had a BBQ cook out and the Reds played lots of different games all around the building.
