Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland

10th August 2010

Another Beautiful Day in Switzerland

We were all happy to wake up to another beautiful day in Switzerland, perfect conditions for all the great outdoor activities we had planned for today.

The morning started with mountain biking for the Adventure and Sport campers, they jumped on their bikes and peddled off through the amazing village of Leysin. The younger Yellow campers had a morning of archery and there appeared to be some budding Robin Hoods. The Dance campers started to learn the dance they will be performing at the end of the session and the Language lessons are now in full flow. As always the Tennis campers have been down at the courts working on their serves and footwork.

After a spot of lunch and the all camp meeting the afternoon activities could start, the Yellows went on a hike up the mountain to Le Temeley which is at an altitude of 1,700 metres. Once at the top they had a chance to buy home made ice cream and cheese. The Reds had a mixture of fitness and outdoor living skills and the Blues had a choice of climbing, swimming and mini golf.

Both the Yellow and Blue campers had a campfire for their evening activities. They had a small hike up to the campfire area then they had time to relax, roast marshmallows and play games. The Reds had an evening of Extreme games, they had to get into teams then complete challenges to earn point for their team.
