Summer Camp England
Tears of happiness
The last day of session 2 had arrived before we even saw it coming, time passed by so fast it was unbelievable. During this two weeks of excitement, marvelous adventures and activities was no time to think about an ending.
As the sun rose in the morning the campers head off to their last programme-specific activities, like Slip and Slide in adventures and a big Quiz for the English campers. Performing arts was practicing their show and prepping the last bits to get the best out of it.
After some packing time and lunch the hole camp went to the theater to see the show. And what fantastic show that was. Swans Ace was a tail about murder misters love and money. This banning story was crisscrossed by incredible dance and sing numbers, which the campers had only came up with and learned in the past two weeks. They presented their story with great compassion, joy and a hole load of talent.
After the show the campers got some time to pack the rest of their belongings into their suitcases and then we went to the theater for our last 3PM meeting. With no time to spare, we went straight to the football pitch to watch the football match between campers and counsellors. Although it rained during the game both of the teams fought very hard and kicked that ball like Beckham. Finally, after an intense game the campers had the upper hand and managed to win the match. Congratulations!
After some free time and dinner the time had come to get ready for awards Night. Everybody dressed up and looked incredible. Once again all camp met in the theater for the last time. Awards Night is an all Camp activity where campers get awards from their counsellors for special outstanding skills in each programme and colour. On top of that we enjoyed some colorful slideshows with the highlights of every camp programme and color. To end this wonderful day, we went for a last dance at the disco and let our hearts beat in the rhythm of the music.
All good things must end some time. There were a lot of tears falling that night, but these tears do also mean that the time in camp was a good one and one which is worthy to be remembered. May all the good memory's warm our hearts up in times of need. We hope to see all of you next year again and wish you a safe travel back home!
