Carnival Night!
Let the carnival begin! The first Tuesday is always exciting at Village Camps,York since it is when we set up our amazing carnival in the Secret Garden. Games, dance, bouncy castles, popcorn, face paint... Doesn't get much better than that! But first let's review what happened during the rest of the day.
After an energizing breakfast, the campers were divided into their programme-specific groups and began working hard to learn new things and improve their skills ;) always in a fun and safe environment! Our adventurers had an exciting day out, since they were divided into groups and went either rafting or on a walk to a nearby deer park. They were amused by the beautiful animals and learn about the significance of respecting nature.
Once lunch was over, the campers had some free time and joined some fun activities like football, hockey, rounders, comic design... At our 3 pm meeting, some volunteers read out loud the messages from our Secret Friend Box, in which they had written all sorts of kind messages to other campers, counsellors or teams. The Kangaroo court showed no mercy... In the second afternoon session, campers enjoyed cooking, circus, volleyball, bootcamp... It was said that pancakes were amazing!!
Finally, after dinner it was time for Carnival Night! We hope all our campers enjoyed as much as we did and that they're ready for everything that's still to come... ;)
- Breakfast: Bacon sandwich; choice of cereals, toast and fresh fruit!
- Lunch: Beef, chicken or veggie burger, sweet potato wedges, baked beans and sweet corn. Rice pudding for dessert.
- Dinner: Salmon fillet or stuffed peppers, served with cous cous and green beans. Chocolate sponge and fruit.
