Summer Camp England

1st August 2012

Carnival Madness!

Last nights' Carnival was a roaring success, face paint and games galore. Campers were given a sheet of paper to take round to each game, if they won the game they were given a tick, they room with the most ticks by the end of the night won a party for thei room. So obviously everyone was very hyped up and keen to win! But aside from the competitive aspect, all the games went well, and everyone was sporting brightly painted faces when we all trooped back to the accomodation! This morning, we were back to morning programmes as usual, golfers and riders had their early start to head off campus. Football this morning were training extra hard as they have a relaxing morning in the pool planned for tomorrow, so there were some very tired and sweaty faces at the lunch tables! Performing arts experiencing all aspects of performance; drama, dance and music, and that carried on today, as we were spectacularly serenaded at our all camp meeting this morning! Activity and Adventure had a morning of sensory awareness! An activity designed to bring to attention how reliant we are on all of our sense by taking away the use of one or two during certain games. This afternoon the campers are spread around the campus doing various activities, such as learning Gaelic football, making ice-cream and playing tennis! Tonight is our night of prepearation, splitting into our teams for both International night and BIG NIGHT! International night gives each country and campers from that country a chance to showcase what they love and find special about where they're from, and that will happening on Tuesday night! BIG NIGHT is our version of the Olympics, campers are split into four teams for a night of competitive games and the chance to win a pizza party!
