Summer Camp England

BIG DAY 2011

The much anticipated Village Camps camper Olympic BIG DAY 2011. The morning programmes all divided into their sessions. The Activity & Adventure learned how to build a real fire out in the woods by the estate. The English camp hosted a cooking challenge where the groups created their own menu and cooked. Delicious pizzas, lasagne, crepes, and parkin cake was made and shared amongst all the English programme. Many raved about the pizza with egg on it!
The afternoon was the beginning of Big Day. Field activities for the different colour groups to test their team building and sportsmanship filled the rest of the day. Games such as mummy daddy mummy, string and spoon, human tunnel, puzzle relay, and over under were played with much enthusiasm. The cheers, support for one another, and laughter consumed everyone. It was a great Big Day and one can't complain when it is also on one of the nicest days in England.
The sun filled the sky the entire day and in the evening, the final games of Big Day were held to see who would be the winner of Session One. A big congratulations goes to Joe Foster and the Red Team for their win! Great job to all campers and counsellors!
