Summer Camp England

22nd July 2010

An excursion day

The session has almost come to an end, however, there was still time for one more exciting day of excursions. The English camp departed in the morning to visit the fearful dungeons in the centre of York. The tour took them around the deep and dark history of underground York and the ghosts, witches and villains that are believed to have roamed it's streets.

Meanwhile Creative Arts were on their way to an art exhibition in Leeds. They enjoyed an inspiring tour around a fine art gallery, sampling many beautiful and interesting pieces of work, both classical and contemporary, along their way.

During this time the football players were bursting with excitement on their journey to Manchester United's home ground, Old Trafford. The tour was enjoyed by every camper and supporter of any team.

Far from home in the beautiful countryside of York were the Activity and Adventure camp who had just arrived at their campsite for an overnight camping trip. They participated in many thrilling and enjoyable activities such as rock climbing, abseiling, walking through dark and mysterious caves and splashing around during gorge walking. These exhausting activities were followed by an evening campfire toasting marshmallows, playing games and singing songs. The campers then crawled into their tents and got a good night's sleep under the stars before heading back home to Village Camps.
