Summer Camp Chiclana, Spain

12th July 2016

Banana boating and International Night !

Today was an awesome day spent sharing ideas, songs, cultures, food, music, and a couple spills off the banana boat into the water!

This morning the surfers saw their toughest waves yet. They proved themselves in the water and got to practice their skills on shore with indo boards.

Adventure campers lived up to their name this morning. Some of them tried out the individual stand up paddle boards, and the rest piled onto one giant paddle board and worked together to cross to the island. The morning ended with a splash! The banana boat was awesome, and almost everyone fell into the water, and got back on with a grin bigger than before.

This afternoon we split into our groups for international night: Oceania, The Americas, Europe, Eurasia, and the Arab Nations. We brainstormed ideas on how to best represent our area of the world, and some blues headed to the kitchen to prepare some traditional dishes for us to have with dinner.

At dinner we had some American hamburgers, German potato salad, Spanish tortilla, Australian Vegimite, English finger sandwiches and more.

In the evening we all headed out to Las Monjas garden to perform. There were skits and dances and game shows and anthems. Campers dressed up and shared interesting facts and hilarious anecdotes. We all learned a little bit more about the people and the world around us, and had a blast in the process.

Now off to bed for another full day tomorrow! Buenas noches, bonne nuit, and buonanotte.
