Summer Camp Ardèche, France
Second to last day! Vallon markets, talent show prep, disco!
Woohoo! Camp is still at full speed and no signs of slowing down yet.
Today the campers were reluctant to get out of bed, after a huge day on the water yesterday and a movie (Zootopia) in the evening. Once everybody was up and fed, we all jumped on to the bus and headed down to the Vallon markets for some shopping. The campers bought all kinds of things, mainly sugar-based, and enjoyed a few hours walking through the cobblestone streets in small groups.
Lunch was back at camp and afterwards the campers got busy preparing their skits and performances for tomorrow's talent show! There are so many talents out there and we are all excited about the performances to come!
At 6.30 we all met for dinner, and afterwards the campers left to prepare for one of the biggest nights on the Ardeche calendar: the disco! Campers went to change into their nice clothes and dresses while the counsellors raided the dress-up chest, coming out in wigs, masks, and onesies! Luckily the goofy counsellors were still accepted as 'cool' by all our beautiful and good-looking campers, and everyone began to boogie on down to tunes that campers had selected beforehand. A photobooth was set up for photographs, and the dressup box was eventually taken over by the campers themselves.
The party is still going, and most of the counsellors are still about the office, preparing for the next few big days. Tomorrow will be a big day - the VC CHALLENGE, the talent show, gala dinner, and then sadly begin to pack up.
- Breakfast: A selection of breakfast cereals with fruit, yoghurt and honey. Baguette with butter and jam. Orange and apple juice.
- Lunch: Wraps with a healthy selection of salads, hummus, cheese, salami, ham, eggs, avocados, sauces, pickles, and veges!
- Dinner: Lasagne with garlic bread and peas, beetroot salad, chickpea salad, green salad with a selection of olives and pickles, baguette. For desert: apple pie!
