Day 2 of GRAND DESCENT!

The campers all woke this morning after a good nights rest sleeping under the stars, and got ready for another day paddling on the Ardeche River. We all learned the story of Madelene, a princess who died for love and whose spirit is still in the rapid named after her. After some hard-core paddling we enjoyed a nice leisurely lunch with lots of cliff-jumping and relaxing in the water. We then battled our way through all the wind before arriving in Sauze, our pick-up spot. A few tired campers were spotted napping on the bus while others couldn't help chatting the whole way home and swapping stories of the day and what line they took going down rapids.
Dinner time was welcomed with open arms and the campers all went crazy when they saw the big plates of food coming out - delicious golden chicken nuggets, sticky chicken wings and scrumptious wedges.
The day was topped off by an outdoor movie screened on a big projector under the stars which was prepared for us by our lovely French teachers.
It really has been two days full of amazingness! It is hard to explain all the fun moments, bursts of laughter and good food that we all share. Don't forget to have a look at all the photos of the amazing time we had.
- Breakfast: French baguette with selection of cereals, fruit and yoghurt accompanied by a choice of orange juice and apple juice
- Lunch: Packed picnic lunch and salad
- Dinner: Delicious chicken nuggets, chicken wings and hot wedges accompanied by a scrumptious watermelon and feta cheese and chickpea salads. To top it all off ICE-CREAM for dessert!
