First day excitement
Quote of the day: "The best way to predict the future is to create it"
And so the magic has begun! The campers have all arrived safely and although slightly tired, have been having lots of fun making their new friends.
They started arriving today from lunchtime onwards and once they got checked in by our magic-maker Dave and had a quick chat with our health care facilitator they were set to meet their new tent-mates. After a quick introduction with lots of excited babbling it was time to get them down to the river for a refreshing swim to cool down from the intense heat. Others chose to enter some healthy competition and play some tether ball, soccer, card games, do some arts and crafts or play a friendly game of Super Mario Cart on the Wii.
Once all the campers had arrived and after a delicious dinner cooked by our wonderful Chef Doug we had a fun and energetic ice-breaker session where the campers got to experience some camp-favourite games like River/bank and a personal favourite - Buggy up.
After all the excitement of the day and with new friends to keep everyone company the happy campers are all ready for a great night's sleep. We are all excited for the rest of what promises to be a fantastic 2 weeks!

- Dinner: Tonight we are starting with a combination of chickpea and noodle salads. Followed by delicious Cordon Bleu accompanied with Chef Doug's famous roasted potatoes and broccoli. For vegetarians we have mouth-watering stuffed aubergine. Rub-a-dub-dub I wanna eat some grub!
