Summer Camp Ardèche, France

30th June 2014

First day in the Ardeche

Today the campers woke up to a bright and brisk morning.

Our French teachers prepared a series of games where the little dudes had to show their French skills while getting to know each other, after which they got to learn basic flat water skills. The River program campers spent the day on the river, starting with a flat water lesson and fun swimming games, followed by an adventurous Mini Descent, full of exciting rapids, healthy snacks and memorable moments!

We all gathered for dinner, where we got to enjoy a delicious chili con carne thanks to our great chef Doug. Our dessert was suddenly interrupted by two extremely convincing Scottish hippies who got lost in their way to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. They stopped by and decided to delight us by reading out the Secret Friends notes of today.

Our evening activity was Kunkin, a fun game where all the campers and staff went crazy (in the best way). After that, time to go to sleep! We all enjoyed some fresh cherries and strawberries as evening snacks, while listening Dave read for us Danny the Champion of the World, by Roald Dahl.
