Village Camps has a long tradition of outdoor education and have recently added a modern science lab to their building to enhance the opportunities for campers/students to engage in their learning. Students will be guided and taught a variety of laboratory skills before taking their curiosity to the next level by taking part in a range projects tied to National curriculums for science for ages 11-16. We want Lab Explorers to love learning and we want them to enjoy science which contains so many explanations to our world and chances to explore.
Lab Explorers Director:
Chris has over 10 years of science teaching experience as well as previously working in the pharmaceutical industry. He loves taking science outdoors and continues to come up with ways to make learning science more engaging for young people while making sure students learn the skills of how to find explanations to phenomena and build up a good knowledge of the world around them. He is a high school teacher with experience in IB and A Levels and has taught in the UK, Hong Kong and is currently teaching in Switzerland. His passions besides science are snowboarding and DIY.

Campers stay at the Village Camps owned and managed Swiss Alpine Centre. The centre has spacious, mainly en-suite bedrooms for 3-4 campers as well as lounges and recreational areas and impressive dining facilities. The campus is well situated just above the main village and close to its excellent sport and leisure facilities.
There are exciting excursions to Geneva, the lakeside town of Lausanne, a chocolate factory and the Water-Park in nearby Aigle.
There is a variety of afternoon and evening activities both in Camp and outdoors, which campers from all programmes participate together. These all camp activities are organised and supervised by Village Camp counsellors.
Further details on the excursions and on the activities available at the Leysin camp can be found on the Switzerland Overview Page.
