Summer Camp Zell am See, Austria

12th July 2022

2nd Tuesday of our Camp

Tuesday morning welcomed our campers with clear, sunny skies and amazing views of the mountains in our backyard. The adventure and language campers couldn´t wait to get started with their morning activities. Today, the younger adventure groups learned how to survive in the forest by seeing how water filtration works and making a shelter with limited materials. Afterwards, they did an archery session – quite a few bulls eyes were hit! Our language campers took a local excursion to the pool, where they put some sports vocabulary and commands in use. With the sun shining brightly and the temperatures warming up, it was a nice change of scenery for the German and English students. The main focus of the day was International Night, a time when Village Camps showcases the various backgrounds of our campers and to learn about other cultures and traditions. The afternoon was spent preparing the skits, songs and dances for the evening presentation. For dinner, the Notburghof chefs provided us with a sampler of various cuisines, like hummous, Russian egg salad, goulash, and of course, traditional Austrian strudel. The campers couldn´t wait to get the International Night started, and we had a blast watching, singing, and dancing along with the presentations. Tomorrow is a big day for camp, as we will all be heading to Salzburg to see some special filming locations from ¨The Sound of Music¨ and shopping, of course!
