Summer Camp England
Welcome to the family!
Although first days can always be a little daunting, particularly in an environment where close to 30 different nationalities are coexisting in such close proximity, Session Three of Village Camps kicked off with more energy than ever!
At 9am, all 105 campers broke off into their separate morning programmes and spent the morning familiarising themselves with their new groups, their new counsellors and their new surroundings. Horse Riding and Golf embarked on their daily trips to the stables and the green, Performing Arts familiarised itself with the theatre, Football with the fields, Creative Arts with the arts room, English with the Old Hall and Activity & Adventure looked ahead to their two fun-filled weeks to come.
By lunchtime, many new friendships were already blossoming and spirits were high. The afternoon was spent in colour groups. Blues, Reds and Yellows got to know each other better over basketball games, creative arts projects, mini-golf and swimming. At the 3pm meeting, camp director Glenn Carpenter welcomed everyone and explained the rules and procedures necessary for a successful and memorable summer-camp experience.
Evening programmes consisted of more icebreaking and teambuilding games, ensuring that, by the end of the day, every camper had been able to bond with many new people. With all the campers feeling comfortable and motivated, Session Three is now finally ready to take off!
