Summer Camp England

8th July 2013

The Second Week Already?!

The second week has officially begun! And although the weekend may be over, there is no slowing down the excitement and activity at Village Camps York.

All morning programs were back to normal today with the horse riders and golfers getting straight into their session after breakfast. Creative Arts and Performing Arts continued to work on their individual pieces whilst the English Program were challenged to a scavenger hunt around campus. Football and basketball programs continued to perfect their skills on the court and the pitch in preparation for the upcoming campers vs. counsellors games that are taking place this week!

It was excursion day for two of our programs with Activity and Adventure getting to try mountain boarding for the first time with campers and counsellors alike taking on the challenge of a brand new sport. Meanwhile LTC got the chance to try indoor skiing for the day at Xscape adventure centre. It was clear from both of these activities just how outgoing and confident our campers are becoming in trying new and interesting endeavours and all within the first week!

Straight after lunch all programs were back into the normal afternoon routine with such activities as kickball, mural painting, music and dance taking place all over campus. Just when the campers were getting tired each house was treated to a new evening activity with yellow boys and girls having a night exploring the brand new Muggles Activity Centre whilst Red boys and girls splashed around at their very own pool party.
The Blue boys and girls were given a bit more of a challenge with Extreme Dodgeball being their evening activity, but with a twist as all participants were required to dress up!

The second week already looks to be the best with Village Camps York bursting with activity and camp spirit.
