Programme Staff - Deutsch Lehrer- German Teacher/Activity Counsellor

The German Language Teacher teaches beginners to advanced level German for several periods during designated times in the day. A variety of backgrounds are represented and children vary in age and ability in the classroom. The Teacher is required to submit long-range plans, plan daily lessons and monitor students' progress using effective techniques. Other duties involve assisting in creative, outdoor and sporting activities such as trekking, mountain biking, rock climbing, orienteering, arts and crafts, drama, dance, sailing, swimming, football and basketball. Additional responsibilities include supervising during meal times and excursions, participating in evening programmes and wake-up/lights-out duties.

Applicant must be a native speaker of German, and have teaching experience of a minimum 6 months.

The Film Camp Counsellor (under the supervision of the Film Camp Coordinator) organises and supervises up to 10 campers involved in the film-making programme at our international, residential camp in Zell am See, Austria. Applicant must be trained and experienced in digital video filming, editing and production and have experience in working with children in an residential and/or international environment. Duties and responsibilities include designing a fun, educational programme for 10 to 17 year olds, leading the film-making programme for 3 hours daily, reviewing programme resources to implement new ideas and develop the film programme and discussing programme requirements and budgets with the camp director. Other duties include leading a wide range of sporting, creative and outdoor activities such as trekking, swimming, orienteering, arts and crafts, drama, dance, horse riding, tennis, football and basketball. Additional responsibilities include supervising during meal times and excursions, participating in evening programmes and wake-up/lights-out duties.

Good communication skills in English is required and knowledge of a second language is an asset.

Applicant must hold a RSN qualification or emeregency first aid certification and have a minimum of one year of professional experience in health care.

The Photographer/Technical Support takes digital photos and records videos of all the aspects of Camp life on a daily basis and makes sure the network and internet connections are operational. The Photographer reports to and gets direct instructions from, the Village Camp Web & Network Support Team at the Head office in Nyon, Switzerland. The daily tasks also include grouping all the captured photos and videos labelled by activities, location and colour group or programme; sending all the material in it's original un-cropped, un-resized form for the publication in the Camp Journals; gathering all available photos and videos from Campers and Staff members and send them on a regular basis; gathering and sending all the daily Camp News and Editorials from the staff members and Camp Director. Additional responsibilities include supervising during meal times and excursions, participating in evening programmes and wake-up/lights-out duties.

Applicant must have experience in photography and video editing and experience working in a residential camp environment.
