Summer Camp LTC, Leysin

Excursion Day!

The LTC campers had a long sleep in this morning. They then joined the Blue campers. During breakfast, they prepared their lunch for the days excursion. After traveling on the bus to the Olympic Museum located in Lausanne.

They toured the various displays. These started with the history of how the Olympics originally began in Greece and then were revised to the modern Olympics that we know today.

During the tour, they encountered the progress of Olympic torches throughout the many years. All the campers loved it!

Moving to the next floor they viewed the progress of sporting equipment and uniforms over the many years to modern times. They also viewed the various events that were selected for each Olympics. These included both the Summer and Winter games.

Progressing to the bottom floor to have the chance to participate in a few virtual games and activities. Also learning about athletes and how the Olympic charter and support has progressed. During this part of the tour, they also had the opportunity to view the development of the medals over the many Olympic games.

We then ate our packed lunch together overlooking the stunning Lake Geneva before travelling into Lausanne to do some shopping. After shopping the group went to have the evening meal, the choices being Margaretta Pizza or Burger, The group tucked into their meals and enjoyed spending time together as one whole group, getting to know each other better.

After this the divided into groups to take part in 10-pin bowling, the whole group had a wonderful time competing against each other.

Saturday has been an informational and cultural day. The evening was an enjoyable activity for both campers and staff alike.

Blues and LTC are away to bed to rest up for a day at the pool tomorrow.
