Nature's Thrills: Canyoning Delight!

Today began like the other mornings at LTC camp, with a guest speaker to share their insights, inspire and motivate us. Today's speaker was Phoebe Shergold-Willis, the founder of a performing arts school that aims to provide access to the arts for students from all financial backgrounds and social circumstances. Over the past 7.5 years, she has expanded her work by establishing a sister company called 'SASA's Youth Programme CIC' to increase the recognition of our bursary and scholarship program. Phoebe's passionate approach to starting a business and overcoming life's challenges resonated with the LTC campers, who eagerly absorbed her advice.

After a revitalising lunch to recharge our energy, it was time for one of the most thrilling and adventurous activities of the program: canyoning, also known as gorge walking. We boarded the bus and headed to the same location where we had previously enjoyed rafting. Once there, we geared up and entered the river to embark on our exciting adventure through the gorge. The natural beauty surrounding us was truly awe-inspiring, and the campers relished the opportunity to swim, walk, climb, and, most importantly, jump from cliffs of various sizes.

As evening approached, we gathered for a hearty supper before the LTC campers took the stage to present their proposals for 'event X.'

Warm regards, Dominic Stout
